Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Hi I am Kristine and I would like to give praises to Jackie, who was our server on July 17, 2015. We came to Barracos to celebrate our little sister's marriage that was to take place on the following day. It was around 8 o'clock at night and there was 6 of us in total. from the time we were seated until the time we left, Jackie was awesome. She was very plesant, knowledgeable and very patient. When there were changes to our orders she took it in stride like it never even happened. Our evening with our little sister was more enjoyable because of her outstanding level of service and professionalism. We ordered calimari as an appetizer and a whole array of beverages. Everything was as it should have been. The food was hot and the drinks were delicious. Our deep dish pizza was brought to us in a timely fashion and it was hot and scrumptious. Jackie was very attentive without being bothersome and she happily took several pictures of us which was the icing on our very delicious Barracos carrot cake. Thank you Jackie...you ROCK! Kristine

This Barracos is very popular with those of us who work late at night. Pizza, sandwiches and pasta are great. Portions are enormous and they deliver until around 3 am. I particularly like the Italian fries which are coated with chopped garlic and parmesan cheese. They also have good Italian ices and Tiramisu. Stop and try just about anything and you'll be pleased. Only criticism I have is they often forget to put utensils, salt and ketchup etc... in the package and at the hotel it gets pretty sloppy.

We are out of towers visiting from Dallas. I had some bicycle races in Chicago this weekend and figured I'd search for some gluten-free pizza options, being in Chicago and all. Walking into the restaurant and it's immediately apparent that this place is a hang out for a lot of folks. The bar is front and center and surrounded by TVs, as it should be. My husband ordered the Summer Shandy beer as it was supposedly on tap. They were out. When he asked our waitress what else that had on tap that was local she responded with Miller Lite. Hrmm. I ordered the cosmo and it came out as expected. Nothing special. Made with cranberry coctail juice from a plastic bottle. Nothing fresh, but also not entirely expected either. We ordered a Cesar salad to split in order to buy some time until our pizzas came out. The Cesar was very large but was also very underwhelming. It was soggy, like it had been sitting in a chiller since yesterday's service. The dressing was everything short of a Cesar dressing. Perhaps a watered down Italian dressing is being kind. Our pizzas came out and it helped to improve our perception of Barraco's overall. My husband ordered the deep dish 'Around the World' and I had the gluten free of the same variety. The pies were spot on. Very traditional. Personally, I prefer a bit more seasoning to my sauce, but I also understand that isn't 'traditional'. My gluten-free free crust was very likely a pre-made, frozen crust. I've come to expect that of most places. It is unfortunate that more locations don't invest a little bit and develop their own crust, but it is what it is. Overall, the experience was just 'meh'. If we found ourselves here again for some odd reason, I'd skip the salad entirely and just go for the pizza.

I will never order from here again. We waited an hour and a half for breadsticks and pizza last night. Then it showed up completely inedible. The breadsticks had a melted whole in the styrofoam container with matching melted sauce cups inside- who doesn't like breadsticks with a side of cancer? In addition to that, our pizza showed up cold and in pieces piled on each other like someone dropped it and picked the pieces up to throw them in the box. When I called the managers Vito and Carly they told me they sat under the heat lamp too long. So you mean you knew you were serving me food like this?! Unbelievable. You would think someone would offer to recook it or give your money back or both. Nope, not Barracos. Instead they came and picked up the food and offered nothing to reconcile the situation. To think I was going to host my wedding rehearsal dinner with them. Definitely canceling that today.

I would say that this Barraco's has the best thin crust pizza in the area. Actually, all of the food here is great, but when you come here you gotta go for the thin crust. Those little squares are too easy to pop into your mouth, so watch out-you may end up eating half the pizza in a few minutes! Hah! I've always been pleased with ordering at his location, whether it's through carry-out, delivery, or eating in. Although it's very convenient to order out, I suggest you try dining in. The dining room is nice and cozy. You get warm bread and parmesan cheese and olive oil for dipping while you sit and wait for all of the other delicious food to come out. It's one of the nicer sit down experiences in the area. There's also a separate good-sized bar area near the front of the restaurant if you want to hang there.

I don't give out too many 5 star reviews on Yelp because I am either overhyped or underwhelmed. Barraco's overwhelmed and exceeded my expectations. Let's face it, any late night food joint that will deliver a seafood skewer platter post-midnight is automatic grounds for skepticism. Thankfully, my skepticism turned into a full belly and what I'm sure to be a salmon-induced slumber this evening. I ordered the seafood skewer with a salad. The salmon pieces are fresh, large, and delicious. I was using a bit of oil and vinegar to dip my grilled veggies and salmon pieces just before shoveling into my pie hole. Greatest. Decision. Ever. At about $25 for delivery I felt like it was overpriced until I had over half of my platter left for tomorrow (plus this one is on the company dime :-) ) I definitely recommend you order here because if you don't then I will. Mama's stuffed pizza here I come!!!
(5)Kendra B.
(I had to change my review I'm disappointed) I'm always defending barracos swearing up and down that they're amazing! Today I was not very happy at all! I ordered from them and they got my order wrong so I called, the lady read me the correct order but I had the wrong one in front of me. I was upset because only half the pizza was wrong and she told me to stop eating it. I explained it wasn't fair for my family but she said they needed it back. So I was annoyed but did it anyway. I then get the correct pizza maybe 30 minutes later. Then, I am starving at this point and bite into my pizza only to spit out a HUGE thumb nail! I called again and the manger gave me a "credit". I spent $44.44 and at this point I wanted my money back but didn't want to argue anymore.

Attractive comfortable ambiance. Wait staff was pleasant and helpful. We had the party room and an event. Our meal was family style, roast beef fried chicken mashed potatoes steamed vegetable carrots and broccoli and pasta with marinara sauce. The food was hot and each dish consistently good. The waitstaff asked if we needed any additional dishes to be brought out if some of them became empty. Everything was good. The chicken was very flavorful and the beef was tender. The only thing was the coffee never made it out to our table and it came out after the cake was served and eaten. It would've been nice to have the coffee served at the appropriate time. Bummer. It was a nice experience. The parking was convenient. We would definitely have another event there.
(4)Kurt S.
I bought a salad yea it cost 3 dollars but I got 1 little cucumber, 1 green pepper strip, and 2 little tomatoes...the rest just ugly looking lettuce....this place sucks
(1)Diana T.
Food was alright. The service is very good. We got attended very quickly. We had appetizers and they were good. I had a lemon drop martini and the bartender hooked it up with the vodka. I tasted no lemon drop whatsoever just vodka. Prices are decent for a restaurant. The parking is bad during the day but at night the lot can be used. I also did not like the chairs. I am short and my feet did not reach the floor. Felt very uncomfortable. I would like to try a booth next time and other food on the menu. I only went ti have drinks. Will do an update soon.
(3)Emily H.
Barraco's was just disappointing. We got two pizzas and a Mediterranean salad on a weeknight. The salad was skimpy on the lettuce and inexplicably had an excessive amount of water in the bottom of the container, at least half an inch. There was something seriously off about their olives too. The DIY containers full of the components of balsamic dressing were ok. The gluten free meat special pizza was overcooked, with blackened crust and heavily seared cheese. Meanwhile, the regular pizza was undercooked and lukewarm. The crust was floppy and doughy. This was extra concerning when, after a few bites I noticed the sausage wasn't just lukewarm, but it was basically uncooked and pink inside. I'm really hoping I don't get food poisoning. Aside from the undercooking, two of the three toppings were barely present. At $1.75 per topping, all I got was 12 tiny pieces of spinach? Surely Barraco's can afford to put more spinach on than that for a $16 12" pizza. I couldn't even find the garlic that was supposedly on it. There was no evidence of it in taste, and really, it was one of the blandest pizza experiences I've ever had. Probably not doing this again.
(2)Terry B.
We took a friend here from out of town. Orders appetizers, drinks, and a pizza. What a great way to show the southside of Chicago!!! Great vibe! Great place for everyone!!! I highly recommend! Pretzel sticks you can't forget to order.
(5)Renee S.
The lunch buffet has a great variety. Ive mostly had there salads which are huge so i share it with my co-worker. Love the fresh bread which comes out first thats all warm with some olive oil and parmesan cheese. Its the best.
(4)Sean L.
Just got my "deep dish" pizza from here. It's not that good.. Not what it used to be at all. Also ordered Italian fried those have not changed always pretty good and then I ordered cole slaw and got charged 1.25 for a little cole slaw rip off.

The most flavorless Alfredo Sauce I've ever had :( It was one of those -11° type of nights and practically every restaurant was closed due to extreme weather conditions and our first choice (Palermo's) which most of my company were huge fans of, was closed. We drove around and stumbled upon this place bc, well, they were open. For it being a very slow night, they were EXTREMELY slow getting the food to us and we were sooooo hungry. They ended up giving is 3 helpings of their complimentary bread. That bread is really good btw! But we got so full we all had take away. We ordered a pizza to share and my husband and I split a Tour of Tuscany (I believe that's what it was called) which had 3 different kinds of pasta dishes. I only had the Alfredo so I don't really remember what the other dishes were. The pasta itself was prepared perfect, the sauce-- that's another story. It was so bland that my husband asked for some garlic powder and added some salt to try and revive it. It helped but we shouldn't have had to do that. I was stuffed so I couldn't really finish the dish besides, no flavor no taste :( Would we return? Not likely :T
(2)Patrick D.
The food was okay. The Sicilian pizza was pretty good but we also split anti pasto salad with no mushrooms or olives. When it came, it was loaded with mushrooms and olives, and get this, they charged us $3.50 to split a salad. Small pizza, salad and one coke cost over $35. That was the last time I will be there and I live a block away. Our waitress was very nice, even though she brought us the salad with a plethora of mushrooms and olives.
(2)Laurence K.
So trying a place that was recommended to us Nice space old school Italian. I start with the Mediterranean salad and them a small cheese pizza Jim ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce and sausage. The salad was excellent nice fresh green tomatoes and Kalamata olives The pizza thin cheese was awesome great sauce and really thin crust Jim's pasta was really really good too and the sausage was out of this world I would highly recommend this place
(4)Laina V.
Consistently good thin crust pizza, great appetizers, reasonably priced alcohol, and a really large menu. Not sure you should venture outside of the thin crust realm because it's so good here, I don't think you're likely to have a better pizza if you try another crust. They're a great location to go with a group and they have a really nice back room for larger parties.
(4)Shelitha H.
Order the pepper and egg sandwich and Italian beef for my boyfriend. The pepper and egg was just an omelette between bread, it was lacking greatly in flavor. I'm a pesceterian so I didn't taste the Italian beef but BF said it was ok and his face said meh. I asked for hot peppers on his sandwhich and there were no peppers. I'm not sure about their pizza but the food was just average. I probably won't go back.
(2)Robert M.
I have never had a bad meal here. The food is a bit pricey, but well worth it. Great bar area as well as dining.
(5)Daniel S.
Got the green pepper and onion thin crust, it was solid, but I was quite impressed by their beer selection, they had a pretty big collection of craft beers, in addition, the complimentary bread and butter was the bomb, so warm and soft, am interested to try other menu items
(4)Alana D.
I wen here last night to celebrate a friends bday. Even tho she had made reservations, it took an hour to actually be seated. When they did finally seat, we still needed an extra table. The staff offered to get us extra seats but for whatever strange reason would not get is a table. So me and 2 other friends had to sit at a separate table. It took 30mins to receive my martini! I had the lobster ravioli and it was blah. The pizza I tried was good tho and I'd like to I back and try that. however pizza takes 25min to make and at that point I didn't feel like waiting. I'm going to go bCk on a less busy night an order pizza.
(3)-E -.
The pizza is very good. The deep dish was great. The other week my brother came here though and had a hair in his deep dish pizza. They took that off the receipt.
(4)Kate W.
Ok. Food is great. The bbq chicken..... Amazing. BUT.... I ordered an hour and forty minutes ago and they said the food would be here within the hour. We called to check on the order and Nina (she answered the phone) said, "we're busy too!" That was her response. How rude! Are you kidding me?! I wouldn't have minded if they would have said, from the beginning, that it would take much longer than an hour. I have hear similar stories about this location. I will no longer order from this location.
(2)Juliette R.
Good stuff. If you are looking for a quality pizza and it is late at night, this is the place. Not my favorite pizza ever but still awesome. - sweet sauce. Opened for delivery 24 hours! Like I said...good stuff.
(4)Eze A.
I was in town for about 5 days for work and came here one day with a co-worker, should of brought 2 more!! We are from Texas so when in Chicago you know we want true Chicago deep dish pizza. Pizza was bomb.com , we had a large deep dish with pepperoni, sausage, green peppers and onion...took about a half hour to bake but we knew that reading the menu. We snacked on the hot bread in the meantime which was simply delicious. Needless to say we ate half of that pie...think it was about $20..we had the rest the next day for lunch.. Glad I came and had the deep dish experience... sent the other co workers the next day and they were pleased as well.
(4)Dan D.
I come here about 3 nights a week for pizza because for any late night establishment, Barraco's is the best. 24 hours a day and delicious. I'm mainly here for takeout but the bar and dining area are very well kept. The bar booths even have personal TVs. Perfect place for anything groups, drinks, late night snack.
(5)Deborah M.
Finally had an opportunity to try the thin crust pizza. I ordered a thin crust with sausage, pepperoni & mushrooms. Pizza looked great! I wasn't excited about the sauce. Something was missing!
(2)Jimmy B.
Placed an order online and did not receive anything. When I contacted the store I kept getting transferred to different people. Finally someone took my call and I was told that "The online ordering may not be working" Well that does not help me out. He then wanted to take my order over the phone. I already have been waiting for 90 minutes. I have had problems before from this location and have not tried them since. They opened a new one on 111th that does not delivery or have anywhere to park for pick-up. Never have liked the pizza but sandwiches were not bad. Will not be placing and more orders from Barraco's. I understand mistakes happen, but it is how you respond to them that matters. Maybe say my apologizea I can take your order and put a rush on it so you receive it very quickly. Many other places to order from.

Literally THE WORST dining experience of my life. I am a server as well as my boyfriend so we are always patient in restaurants. However, tonight we waited 35 minutes for 2 chicken dishes. This was after we waited 10 minutes for our salads. This would be absolutely no problem if the restaurant was busy which it was not. The server Kayla, couldn't care less about what was going on with her tables, so much so that I could see right through to the kitchen and instead of taking care of her tables she was on her phone. Oh Kayla, don't you know one of the main rules of serving? Don't use you're phone where anybody can see you!!! Especially when you have ticket times over 20 min. Now on to the food, I ordered a chicken kabob which was fine, although I would've eaten anything at this point. My boyfriends food, not so much. He ordered chicken Marsala which looked liked chicken breasts covered in heavy cream. When we said something we were told they don't go heavy with the Marsala wine. That's funny, the dish is called MARSALA, it literally had none. So, while we waited for them to get him another dish (a grilled chicken breast and mashed potatoes) he ate one of my skewers, off a bread plate. So naturally our server came over and with a straight face said "how is everything?" She literally acted like nothing was wrong and went back to hide in the kitchen again. I let the manager know what was going on because they should be aware of negligent servers. He was awesome about the whole thing so kudos to him. Needless to say we will never go back to this location. The entire experience infuriated us to the point of losing our appetites. My advice; sit in the bar if you visit. The bartenders are usually on point.
(1)Renita G.
Love the service! I'm always there. Great pizza and Chicken! Love the $5 martinis. Great location. The staff is very personable.
(4)Diana C.
An excellent place to eat!!!! Very good pizza and salads. Nothing is perfect, but generally their food is really delicious. The owner is very nice and treats you like royalty when you are there. They are open 24 hours now too.
(5)Michelle M.
From the first person I spoke to about catering to the last, this place is a class act! The staff are helpful and friendly and the Management really cares about their customers they were extremely helpful in helping me arrange an event and was generous in advising us from step one! If you're catering an office, school, personal or church event give your business to this restaurant! Best in Chicago! Customer service extraordinaires! You will not be sorry!
(5)Michael S.
I love eating at Barracos. Their pizza is awesome and delivery is fast. The Mama Barraco pizza is to die for. The staff is great and Nick, the owner, is very accomadating if your have an issue. The restaurant is doing so well that they just opened up a new location on 111th Street in Mount Greenwood. I really can't think of anything bad to say about the place, the menu nor the staff. Rumor has it they are looking into a new location at 95th/Western and I hope they do that. Thanks Barracos for the great food and Sunday we celebrate my daughter's Birthday there!
(5)Kagome T.
The pasta I had was absolutely terrible, with way too much sauce, and it over all being bad. The price was decent, but with it being terrible and cold! When I got it the plate was hot, but the pasta was cold! This place is downright bad!
(2)Gretchen K.
I have always loved them! Great pizza , they absolutely have the freshest toppings , especially mushrooms and Spinach. There angel hair pasta and alfredo is great, I always get broccoli with it. And they have the best cheeseburger in town hands down.
(5)Rah H.
I love the Service, I also did a class project on this organization. Barracos is a great family owned restaurant. Pepperoni pizza to die for lmao...
(5)P K.
Went here on a Friday night and it was busy. Staff there is very friendly. I want to start off that I haven't had the pizza there. I may try this place again just to try the pizza, but otherwise I don't think I'll go back. The food wasn't that great for basic Italian food. I had the eggplant parmesan and it was just ok. My husband had the tilapia and it was not good at all. It had a very fish taste and kind of rubbery. The only thing I liked from our dinner was the wine and the bread with the olive oil dipping sauce that they give you when you first sit down.
(2)Homie Style M.
Yummy. Had the meatzza. Loved it hot and still good cold. Wish I had some right now. :-) pizza! Pizza!
(4)Brian F.
We tried the lasagna and the chopped salad and just weren't impressed with either. The lasagna pasta was a bit overcooked and the sauce was kind of bland. The chopped salad, while enormous, seemed to be made with sub-par ingredients. The blue cheese, mozzarella, and prosciutto were all suspect Of course cheese-wise there is literally one pound of it in the salad.. Service was very good, but I would not go out of my way to eat here.
(2)Lillian H.
Ordered from here for the first time today. I never knew they had such an extensive menu. I ordered the BBQ chicken dinner bucket--Great value. The food was delivered quickly. The BBQ sauce was not that great. I also didn't expect the chicken to be fried; I expected it to be grilled or baked. I probably wouldn't buy the BBQ chicken again but I look forward to trying some of the other menu items...
(3)Art V.
I live in Colorado - every time I am in Chicago I have to stop at Barraco's. The food is always delicious and the service is always excellent
(5)Tammy W.
Had a birthday celebration the other night here. The food and service was outstanding. I wish there was more stars to give. My servers name was Julio and he was top notch! Great sense of humor, very attentive. I didn't get a chance to ask for a treat for the birthday boy because Julio asked first. What service. He made the while dinning experience truly special. Had the baked mostacolli florentine. Perfect! And $5 Martini's. How could you go wrong.

This review is of a pizza that was delivered to my home about two weeks ago. I have alrways recognized that Barraco's is good for pizza, and pretty much fails miserably on all other dishes. However, the pizza in this case was the most blah, no flavor pizza ever. The Around the World thin crust was ordered which includes sausage, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. And all I could say is, "Am I eating cardboard?" After adding garlic salt, oregano, red pepper flakes, and more cheese, it was ok. What happened, Barraco's. Trying for great Irish (bland) cuisine? If so, you succeeded.
(2)Al D.
One of the darkest restaurant interiors I have ever been in. I think I saw some people using their flashlights on their Smartphones to read the menu or just eat. Apart from the fact they don't like to use the miracle of incandescent lighting, Baraccos was ok overall, especially for a large group. I'd come back again, especially for the delicious veggie pizza. Just wish the slices were cut just a little bit bigger than appetizer size. .
(3)Gina V.
Wonderful pizza and quick delivery via Grub Hub. I will definitely be ordering from there again. Even the driver was very personable. Even the next day, the pizza was as good as it was when it arrived the night before. Plus, lots of each topping and a very good thin crust.
(5)Jackie R.
Had the deep dish pizza. Was phenomenal! I highly recommend it... HOWEVER. I came on a Friday night with a friend & got a weird vibe from the waiter VINCENT. He was really short with us, barely checked up on us & overall had a unpleasant attitude. In short... Food was great but the service left something to be desired.
(3)Lee H.
Absolutely my favorite restaurant! I love the take out and eating in. Of course the pizza is awesome, but they have a great dining in experience as well! Love the bread and oil that comes when you first sit down. I usually eat there at least once a week. :)
(5)Mike P.
Recently I had a meeting in the area and the friends I was with were looking for a good place to eat. After some thought this place came to mind (as it was close by), which was highly recommended by the person we were meeting with. Having not been to this place for many years, I was not sure what to expect. It was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was not very full so we got a table right away. After some scrutinizing the menu, I decided on the Pasta Medley which was a combination of different shaped pastas (ravioli with meat was one of them) which was filling and tasty. My friends got the Eggplant Parmasean and another pasta which they said were also very good. We also got the choice of salad or soup (I opted for the Minestrone which was hot and good as well). I will be back one day for more great Italian dishes!
(5)Matt P.
First off got 2 sandwiches and 2 fries and was $32 dollers. Its good but I could've fed the fam for under $20 at McDonalds.
(3)Jennifer T.
Best stuffed pizza and cheesy breads ticks. You have to try this place. Also has a great inexpensive lunch buffet!
(5)Morris N.
Great thin crust pizza! Nice casual dining room on one side and a bar on the other side. Service was good even when they were packed during the dinner rush. Menu was pretty extensive and reasonably priced.
(4)Keyona D.
Love this place. The food is good and the menu has various options with daily specials. It stays open 24 hours a day and never has a "bad" crowd. The bar has multiple tv's, plays good music, and has booths and tables if you don't wish to sit at the bar. It also serves the full menu. The upstairs dinning area has tv's and music as well and is a casual atmosphere. Wish there was a location downtown.
(5)Eve P.
This place is open super late which is perfect especially for that neighborhood since everything seems to close early. I've eaten their pizza before at a friends house because she always orders from here and I must say that it is very good. We ordered two pizzas between four people and ate every last piece. I just called and was surprised that a super friendly person answered the phone and I am definitely all about customer service. Pizza places normally sound like they are rushing you but not this place. I took one star off only because I have a favorite pizza place that I go to once in a while but like I said, this place is open late and the pizza is good.
(4)Carol S.
Organized and efficient service and Great tasting Pizza. Thank you. I ordered online............................................Â.......... easy I called in to change something on order...........easy Delivered onTIME...........................................Âstressless :) My First Ordering experience with Barroco's and it was SMOOOOOTH all the way.
(5)Tom E.
I now understand how this place makes $$$. They hire kids, and dont pay them or train them. I have nothing against kids working, but at least train them properly. I am giving the business $$$, train the kids to say "thank you" and how to appreciate a customer. I ordered a pasta meal, and the broasted chicken....the chicken was a let down, and the pasta was dryer then it should have been. Fail on both orders, and very over priced for what it is. I wont be back. Stay away.
(2)Frankie M.
Perfect for delivery 24/7. This place has great pizza and other great entrees. On the downside, their biggest pizza is only 16". Not very filling when trying to feed 5+ people. Also, they can be a bit pricey. Otherwise, Baraccos is the place to go/order from!!
(5)j l.
Their gluten free pizza is very good! I believe they offer gluten free pasta but I have never tried it since the pizza is so tasty.

Okay so...I have been coming to Barracos for about four or five years now. Obviously I am a fan of their food, the menu is extensive so I make it a point to try different things on the menu. I love the fact that they are open 24 hrs and you get large portions for your money. Today I recommended Barracos for my clinical group after our rotation. There was a party of eight and everyone enjoyed the experience. The only problem was our snotty waitress. We did not find her friendly or warm at all and the only reason she got a decent tip was because the gratuity was added on our huge bill. I didn't rate this place less than four stars because I have been coming here for years and I refuse to let one snot of a waitress ruin the ratings however, everyone I brought to this establishment (7) had not been here before and the waitress left a bad taste in everyone's mouth...will they be back, not sure...customer service is key people.

We chose this place based on Yelp reviews and its proximity to the place where we were seeing a play. Definitely a big success in my book. The only annoying thing: they won't seat you unless your entire party is present. My friend arrived super early and they wouldn't seat her even though there were a ton of open tables in the back. The beer list was nice and the prices were super cheap. I'm glad the south side and surrounding suburbs charge considerably less for the same ales as other bars in the city. We didn't bother waiting at the bar for a drink and I'm glad because it was super busy and annoying. I wasn't too happy with our seating arrangement because we were right in a traffic aisle between two areas of the restaurant, but it ended up not being as bad as I had expected. We were tucked in near the wall enough that the traffic of servers, bus boys and patrons didn't disturb our meal too much. Apps were good and HUGE. We ordered the sampler platter, which ended up being a huge mistake because it was enormous. There was too much for three people to eat... especially considering we had also ordered a pizza. Apps are pretty much breaded everything, so you know it's all delicious. The sampler included breaded mushrooms, mozzarella sticks et al, so everything was fried and yummy. Pizza was pretty good. Not the best I've had, but definitely not the worst, so it was worth coming back and having more. They may deliver, so try having that. The restaurant is pretty packed, especially as the night wares on, so you may not want to be around inside that long. All in all, a solid four star performance from Barraco's. I'd go back if I were ever in the area. There's a private lot across from the entrance and there's pretty ample street parking. The entrance situation is a little confusing (as there are many doors but they are not all valid entrances) so watch out.

How am I supposed to drink my milkshake without a straw? Seriously I used grubhub again to order from this place. Not only did they double charge me by not honoring my grubhub receipt, my sisters chicken tenders were swimming in "bbq" sauce and there were 5 not 6, and the fries were soggy. Ugh I'm so over this place.

I never really liked this place as a kid, but over the years it's gotten better. They now offer gluten free pizza and pasta, so I'm able to get something different than the grilled chicken dinner that I usually get. (That grilled chicken dinner is fabulous, btw). The gluten free pizza is worth it. A bit pricey for the GF crust upgrade, but it's a good crust that doesn't get soggy and fall apart. It tastes great too. Their sausage topping has improved over time, it's no longer as pellet-y as it used to be. The gluten free pasta dishes that I had (chicken, broccoli, pesto) was decent. I never asked how they handle the cross-contamination in the kitchen, but I've never had an issue with being glutened from them (thanks, Barraco's!) They have wonderful catering too. My family usually orders their chicken tenders by the pan for events since they are (well, in my case, were) delicious. I prefer to order take-out, since it's usually always crowded and an incredibly long wait to get a table on the weekends.

For three generations my family has been loyal customers. Throughout the years we've had birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries celebrations there. Well that is until recently... I placed a delivery order on Super Bowl Sunday for two pizzas. One pizza was for my guests and I, the second was a 12 inch cheese pizza for my son who does not eat red meat. Unfortunately, my son came down with the flu and did not feel liking eating the pizza that night. The next day as I was about to reheat the my son's pizza I saw that it was a sausage pizza. So I called Barracos to alert them of the mistake, I just wanted them to replace the pizza with my original order. The 12 inch sausage that they delivered had not been touched it was still completely intact, no one had eaten a square. The manager "Vito" offered to replace it however, he wanted me to come out and pick it up, I stated that I would like the pizza delivered just as it was suppose to be with the original order. He stated that he wanted me to pay for the delivery charges, I found this completely unacceptable considering it was THEIR mistake. Vito's nonchalant attitude was not appreciated. Considering that fact that there are PLENTY of competition in the area he truly should consider taking a course in customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, we will no longer be patronizing Baracco's. I would rather spend my hard earned dollar at Giordano's, Chuck's, Home Run Inn, Fox's, and the other 15+ pizzerias within a 5 mile radius!

Based on fellow Yelpers' reviews. I choose this place to have dinner for my birthday. Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Being it was my first time, we entered through what looked like the deli area and then the bar and then finally snaked around to the dining area. Yes, partly my fault because I parked so frickin' far away, made everyone walk in the chilly October night and then entered on the wrong side. Even with it being late on Friday night, we were able to be seated right away. The waiter came by and took our orders super quick. We had the saganaki, it was good but a little too lemony. But hey this is an Italian place, so what do you expect? We then had the deep dished cheese pizza. Love the pizza toppings and sauce, they're really good and fresh tasting. I wasn't a fan of the deep dish crust. It tasted a little too airy, similar to pork rinds. But looking at other tables, it seems the pizza of choice is definitely the thin crust. The service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly and very attentive. And a yeah for the fact, I did get a free birthday scoop of ice cream with a candle in it. Dorky, but awesome at the same time. I'm totally in love with Barraco's atmosphere. It was very relaxing and the best part... no screaming, running, crying children. Just the local residents from the neighborhood having a night out. I would highly recommend the place for taking out a date. Very chill and intimate. I will definitely be back now that I'm not a complete newbie.

Went there with my girlfriend sat at the bar ordered some drinks. The staff behind the bar was a little inattentive but nothing to get angry about. Ordered the grilled calamari and a medium thin crust pizza. The pizza was good but not great...if that was their only flaw i would consider returning. But ROTTEN FOOD is unforgivable. If a cook can not identify ROTTEN FOOD they should not have a job cooking. When receiving our grilled calamari i over anxiously dug in. after eating 2 pieces i quickly realized that the squid was way past its time. An hour later i found myself full on FOOD POISONING. This place has a large menu with tons of dishes. Seems to me that they do not cycle through the ingredients quickly enough to guarantee a fresh product and a poor cooking staff that has problems identifying bad ingredients. I have eaten in some really high class and some really shit hole places all around the world. In all the shitty 3rd world country places that I've eaten at, I was NEVER SERVED SPOILED FOOD TILL BARRACO's. So if you are determined to eat there stick with the pizza but if you really want to be careful stay away. Sean McCann Seancel74@gmail.com

Great southside secret. They're 24 hours, they have a bar, and a liquor store and I've never eaten anything from there and not been satisfied. Barraco's has several locations but hands down this is my favorite. Sicilian Style pizza is to die for, so is the toasted ravioli and pesto gnocchi. Fresh ingredients, everything is made daily. Great service, nice wine and beer selection as well. Can get very crowded but that's understandable with how good it is. Enough reviewing I'm gonna order a pizza now.

Pizza was decent, beer was nice and cold. Our clinical instructor took us out for our last day of clinical, and we had a good time reflecting over hot pizza and cold beer.

Came here with a church dinner group on a Sunday night. We were seated and waited on right away, in a cozy, romantically-lit dining room. The bread was warm and had a nice crust- perfecto with the olive oil and parmesan cheese to dip in. Had a glass of house cabernet, which was actually pretty complex and paletable. Others had the chianti and seemed to like it. Antipasto salad was enough to share with 3 people- we could have ordered two salads for our larger group. I had a three-item pasta plate with ravioli, manicotti and something else. The portions are not huge, but you won't go out the door hungry, especially with bread, soup, salad, and wine. Nice place for south side date night. Just one weird thing-- they must have just waxed the floors or something, and we were slipping and sliding as we entered and exited; a scary feeling, especially dining out with people more advanced in age! :-) Didn't try the pizza. Maybe I'll order that next time. We'll be back!

I used to eat their pizza in high school and it was mediocre but I was a teenager who would eat out of a garbage can, so it didn't matter. So when my aunt suggested it as a place for a sit down family dinner I was hesistant but its a nice place, a little pricey for the area, the table bread was great, service awesome, I got Chickenm Vesuvio, it was differet. They made a good gravy, potatoes was excellent but the chicken was whole, not chopped and mushrooms were everywhere, just dumped on top. I don't like mushrooms, it was too many even for my mushroom loving wife. I'd give them another try but not get Vesuvio.

Barraco's is a gem hidden in Oaklawn. Oaklawn(like Hyde Park), tends to close down around 10pm, leaving us late night rebels having to drive all over creation to get some good food. Not so- Barraco's saves us!! Open till 3am, they have a bar area(for those looking for loud music and booze) and a dining area(for those looking for food, ambiance and booze). Barraco's has a nice "date" atmosphere, candle light, cloth napkins etc. With reasonable prices($10 wine, $4 martinis), WARM oven baked bread(as much as you want) and a wide array of menu options(everything from sandwhiches to pizza) you will NOT be disappointed with your meal. I must caution everyone NOT to get full on bread, which is not hard to due given its super super SUPER good and FREE to boot! They have a wide dessert menu, which I havent gotten a chance to try given Ive been too stuffed from bread and pizza(but I do look forward to it). After mid-night, dine in pizzas are 50% off- perfect for those midnight hunger pains. Our server Paul was SUPER nice, even though he was dealing with a group of RUDE people across the room. Our total bill was $24- including drinks AND tons of left overs- we could have easily fed 3-4ppl on what we had. Im impressed by Barraco's and will definately be visiting again next time Im on the South Side.

I came here for a quick dinner before a play I was seeing in the area. At first, I was super frustrated with my experience. My friends were running late and all I wanted to do was sit and read with a beer while I waited. However, the bar was super crowded, really dark and really loud and most of the high tops were marked reserved. I asked for a table explaining that the rest of my party was literally in a car on the way, but they wouldn't seat me. No one said anything when I ordered a beer and just sat at a reserved table to wait, so I'm letting it pretty much slide even though it was super annoying. Because my friends had been late we were kind of short on time and I was a little worried we would miss the beginning of the play. I shouldn't have worried, though, because the service was super attentive and quick. The food-Everything here is big and really cheap, you get more than you pay for. The app platter was too much for three people to finish and was delicious...lots of deep fryer goodness. We ordered pepperoni thin crust and it was good. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but still good enough to eat again (and often, if I lived closer).

I took my family there for lunch to get deep dish pizza. Turned out they had a lunch buffet that was really decent. In addition to pizza they had soups, salads, meatballs, chicken, pasta and it was very reasonable priced. The service was courteous and efficient. It was my first time there and i would definitely go back, especially for the lunch buffet! FYI deep dish was not part of the lunch buffet...but in the end it was better to eat right away than to wait for the pie to bake.

My wife had chicken vesuvio, thin crust pizza was very good. Service, awful. Charged me for a beer I didn't get served to me. Called the server on it and she looked at me like I had a third eye. Double charged my debit card, Manager's response, "since we switched to Comcast, we've had problems". Not the answer I was hoping for.

I. LOVE. BARRACO'S. PIZZA. The end. Yea right! Since when I have ever written a review that short? I have some good friends out in Evergreen Park. We've ordered from here quite a few times and it's SO freakin' tasty! I've had the stuffed and the thin. Both are good but man the stuffed is....addicting. The crust. Sweet Lord the crust! Nice and crispy but warm and soft on the inside. Their sauce is solid and they use just enough cheese. I'm extremely picky about sausage on my pizza and will often times order mine without....but not here. After partaking in this tastiness, I found myself wishing there was a Barraco's close to me...because sometimes good pizza is hard to come by. To my surprise I found a Barraco's in my neck of the woods in good ole Lisle...and I was in the delivery zone! Woot! We started off good but my last visit left me quite disappointed. The Evergreen Park locale has never let me down. If you are in the area and in the mood for some great pizza....look no further! I hope to give the Lisle location another go. Fingers crossed that they redeem themselves!

Wow, Barraco's . . . my dinner was bloody awesome. Mama Barraco Stuffed pizza with sausage was freaking A++++++! Will definitely order this again and again! Barraco's has rekindled my love of pizza. Well done.
(5)Melissa G.
I'm always pleased with barraccos. The food may not be outstanding, but its good, considering you're in evergreen park. The service is always wonderful. Love the fresh bread. I'll continue to take my family here.
(4)Lee-Han H.
Everytime I go here I order the FISH SANDWICH. Yummy and piping hot, crunchy fries and tall Hurricane on the side. Tons of cops are here since it's a hangout joint for them. The bar area is where my husband and I sit. The back is restaurant style, totally different atmosphere so you will see people dressed up and walk back there. I love that you can watch the game (football, basketball and whatever else) ALL AT THE SAME TIME! The service is quite fast, juke box there s you can go play a tune if you don't like what's on.The price is right and considering that it's an Italian joint the food is plenty on your plate. We go here as out pock will allow us!
(5)Adrienne T.
Came here for a late lunch with friends and the place was packed! We ordered a thin crust pizza and I'm usually a deep dish girl, that had the best vegetarian topping's was fabulous. Even more fab was the service. Our waiter (young guy who suggested a Tabasco and ranch dressing pizza dip), was one of the best wait staff I've encountered in a long time. We felt catered too... Also had a market with a host of vino on display...loved it!
(4)Julie W.
this is by far my favorite thin crust pizza. we have always gotten delivery and it is on time and hot! they also serve gluten free pizza which is a bonus too!
(5)Beth W.
We ordered some Barraco's thin crust for delivery after finding out that they had a gluten-free option to satisfy the pizza cravings of our pal whose insides will explode if he eats wheat. Alright, I may be exaggerating about that last part. I'm not exaggerating when I say that our gluten-free pal devoured his entire specialty pie in one sitting. It was truly a sight to behold. Those of us that love wheat loved our pizza, as well. The sausage was some of the best I've ever had and, as an avowed pepperoni-fanatic since way back, almost made me consider switching to the dark side. Almost. All in all, Barraco's was definitely a pleasant surprise, and I'll order from them again. One word of caution, however: the pizzas are square-sliced in a way that makes some of the interior pieces practically bite-sized. Granted, it's a pretty big bite, but I'll be damned if it doesn't encourage you to keep piling in the pieces of tasty 'za. Well played, Barraco's. Well played.

The first time I ate at this restaurant was after a funeral of a good friend of mine just this past Monday (April 12). So I guess they have "funeral packages." Anyway, we had food in "family style." A whole room was reserved for this whole occasion. The food was great! We had a fresh delicious salad, great crusty bread, fried chicken, beef, mashed potatoes, mostaccioli, veggies and for dessert, they gave us ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, a hint of caramel sauce and a cherry (which I do not like so I just removed it) on top. It was all very tasty and I was definitely full at the end of it. I would love to go back to try the pizza; which is what I will be doing this Sunday with my daughter and a good friend I met at my church. I wish the lighting was better but my eyes adjusted pretty quickly and after sitting down enjoying the meal, it really doesn't matter then. :) Can't wait to go back. I'll be writing another review for the pizza once I have it this weekend. :)
(5)Silky O.
Very good pizza, very good family atmosphere. The bar is also a hot spot to meet friends and get sauced. I must have had at least 50 pizzas from this establishment and from memory, ALL have been great and consistent. One time I showed up sandblasted and met a cute girl. we ended up going back to her place and I owe it all to Barraco's. Thank you, and Love, Silky
(4)Mark G.
Only been here once, but besides Vito & Nicks, some of the best ZA I've had in the south burbs. Pretty nice restaurant too, although having to enter through the bar can be an obstacle late on a Friday or Saturday night.
(4)F. M.
Yes! For the pizza- the thin crust we had was super tasty. No! For the pasta. I had a sampler of some sort that had spaghetti with meat sauce, fettucine alfredo, and chicken parmesean. The spaghetti was mediocre and the alfredo was terrible. Like noodles-and-Vaseline terrible. Yes! For the chicken parm. Probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Hell No! For the way our newbie waitress delivered our "refill" bread to the table- in her bare hands! So, I guess I'd come back for pizza and the assurance that they won't palm my food... (At least not in front of me).
(3)Marianne C.
Good pizza. Other dishes mediocre at best. $5.00 for iced tea.
(2)Bess R.
Nearby work, so we do dinner here some nights. Delicious bread (served with a mix of olive oil, balsamic and garlic) pre-dinner. Pasta dishes have always been good and everything is HUGE portions. Love their pizza too - thin and tasty. Good place for families, but the bar area is nice to have a few drinks after work.
(4)Mickey A.
I recently attended a baby shower here. It was held in the main dining room (I think?) which was perfect for the 30+ attending guests and presents of all sizes. Service was awesome: well organized and the employees moved about in a timely manner. For this party, we were given a special menu consisting of lasagna, broasted chicken with fries, and chicken vesuvio. I mistakenly thought broasted chicken was something like rotisserie chicken. What we got was fried chicken - huge pieces too! The other orders were massive as well, and the staff quickly wrapped up the food for anyone who wanted to take home...which I think was just about everyone! Parking is kind of confusing, but the school parking lot across the street is available for customers. Watch out: the other side of the restaurant has parking spaces but is reserved for the other business next door.
(3)John G.
The Chicken Picatta I ordered was amazing! My only complaint about my service was going without any liquids on the table for 5-10 minutes.
(5)Caitlin O.
I stopped in here in the late evening to have a few drinks and maybe a quick bite to eat. Boy did I ever over order, but it was damn tasty. The lobster ravioli special was extremely reasonably priced to get your lobster on (12.95 or so) - though it is shredded lobster and not lump meat, so there is a bit of an odd texture to it. Pretty tasty. The fried cauliflower was also tasty but do note that the portions on appetizers are huuuuuge. I wasn't expecting quite so much when I ordered both, so when they came out with the calamari that my companion ordered as well it was just a food overload. A pretty tasty food overload, to be entirely fair. My gin and tonic was also relatively cheap, huge and quite strong. Nice place to grab a bite and a drink for a rather reasonable price. I'm sure I'll be back.
(4)Elizabeth S.
Never actually ate at the place but I used to get delivery all the time when I lived relatively close [2.5 miles away and still delivered]. I recommend Mamma Barraco's Spinach Stuffed Pizza [Highlight: Ricotta cheese & Spinach] , made me fall in love with deep dish all over again!
(4)Fedai F.
I love Barraco's pizza! Best pizza ever! Parking is aweful since they hardly have any. My advice is to order your pizza and jjust pick it up! Or of course deliver is always good..Service is friendly and fast in taking your order. We order the thin pizza with mushrooms or the roast beef pizza..mmm! The wings are amazing too! I love their sauce on their pizza sweet and delish! This place is a bit pricy though and ever since another pizza place opened selling their pizza only for 5 dollars...well Barraco's has some competition now..but we are loyal and will pay up for Barraco's anytime!
(5)Ted H.
I used to deliver pizzas here. This place has awesome thin crust Chicago pizza. They also have the best Chicago deep dish I have had. They make their own sausage in the basement. The pizza is simply amazing. These guys are related to the founders of Vito and Nicks and it shows. Much more progressive and attentive to changing with the times, they never changed in a bad way. Everything is delicious and authentic. Highly recommended!
(5)David H.
Yea, don't listen to the haters, someone musta pee'd in their cereal. The stuffed crust was pretty good. Thin crust is good but I've had better. Haven't had their deep dish, I hear thats the best and I am a deep dish lover FO SHO. Anyways I got their breadsticks thinking I'm ordering some regular breadsticks, and I bite into them AND THERE WAS CHEESE! Oh yea thats what got them the extra star. Try this place out.
(4)Lisa P.
When I lived in the Beverly community, this is all I would order. I love this pizza place. The food is great. I think this is a place to try for sure.
(5)Djana M.
We haven't been to this restaurant in person, but of the many pizza menus we received when we moved into this house last year this is hands down the best. We've thrown the other menus away now. Love this pizza, especially the thick crust. Just had a sausage and ground beef thin the other night and it was delicious, too. The cheesy breadsticks were plump and toasty and held up to delivery well. We've ordered several salads and been happy, and was no different this week with the Chicken Caesar. We actually ate this for dinner the night after the pizza and there was so much chicken, it was more than enough for both of us. And they sent 3 dressings. Nice. The delivery is always timely too. Someday soon we will go in person. I hear it is nice.

Fun place w/ stained glass windows of pizza and past in the back. Fun bar area up front and well run. Get the mamb barracos deep dish pizza, it is great.
(5)Deirdre H.
I had lunch last Tuesday at Barraco's and opted with the rest of my party for the lunch time buffet, and I gotta say what is wrong at Barraco's I used to love this place but on Tuesday the buffet was badly lit ,so it was very hard to see the actual food, (cream of chicken soup was good),there were not a lot of choices, the pork ribs were unidentifiable (I THOUGHT IT WAS CHICKEN),the pizza kept emptying out so that it was'nt available, the air conditioning was on low and it was a really hot hot day and there were a lot of little gnats flying around gross. The service was good however our waiter Cameron worked like a dog!
(1)Kay R.
Best spinach stuffed pizza around & a great atmosphere for the bar area!
(5)Elizabeth C.
Consistently good pizza. The best ever--NO but very good.
(4)Noah C.
When we first moved to EP, we ordered from Baracco's two or three times a month. It was always good, not too expensive, and it was delivered fast. Then we got some below average food. Then it happened again. So we stopped ordering. I would suggest it for dinner once in a while and the wife would always say "no". That was three years ago. Flash forward to a couple of months ago when we were looking for somewhere to have a moderately "nice" dinner on a Sunday night. I have no idea what brought us to Baracco's but somehow we ended up at their door. It was great! We got a table right away and the service was on point. Great wine selection, good pasta but the best part was my wife's steak. Wow! Cooked perfectly and a nice Merlot butter on top. I can't say how much I was impressed by our dinner at Baracco's. We will definitely be back and this is to a place that I had written off three years ago.

On a Friday night on the South Side, there is no place I'd rather be than B-Rocks. I always end up running into someone I know from somewhere. The beers are cheap, the DJ is great (he plays all requests), and the crowd is always amusing. I'm overdue for a visit to this favorite spot and I plan on making it out there soon!
(3)Erin B.
When I lived on the South Side, I literally lived on their delivery! Everything is really good here, and their lunch time buffet is really good too. While I've never had their pizza, I have had just about every type of ravioli, and it's good.
(4)Carl G.
Their deep dish pizza is amazing, but the dine-in pastas and such are pretty pedestrian, and overpriced.
(4)Donna F.
I'll be brief. Everything here sucks!
(1)Matt S.
Great food and fantastic service. The food is reasonably priced, and you never leave hungry as the portions are hearty. Barraco's is one of the best restaurants in the Chicagoland area!
